October 1st was International Music Day. The whole month of October, ya hala fm is playing DJ mixes from talented Middle Eastern artists as they blend the region’s rich sounds with world and house beats. Every Saturday at 9pm Central Time, we have a new DJ every week to bring something new the Dallas- Fort Worth area. This Saturday October 12th, we get the chance to listen to Cali Kula! Here is a little bit about him.
Cali Kula, also known as Mehdi Ahmadi, is a versatile artist, composer, and visual creator whose artistic journey has left a lasting impact on various creative realms. With a diverse portfolio encompassing film soundtracks, dance compositions, and sonic installations for exhibitions, Cali Kula has consistently pushed the boundaries of sound and visual art. In 2021, he established Wild Bohemia Studio in Tunis, a creative space dedicated to sound and imagery. The following year, he founded Wild Bohemia Records, a label committed to promoting innovative electronic talents. His musical prowess came to fruition in his debut EP, “The Crow,” a fourtrack Deep House release in 2021 on the Batavia Records label in the Netherlands. This initial work showcased his ability to craft intricate electronic soundscapes that captivate listeners.
